Abstract

In our research, we start from the understanding that the interference happens in a zone of friction, movement and creation. From this perspective, we have developed a study on musical creation from the interferences between (de-) (re)territorialized materials, put into play in the context of free improvisation. Such materials will be obtained in the shared musical repertoire between Paraguay and Brazil, where we identify as common denominator the use of musical materials decanted in the form of folklore and popular manifestations of the border region between both countries. The Guaraní culture and language in interference in the songs of the border region between these countries are exemplary elements for an intercultural research. From the analysis of a shared musical repertoire between both countries, we sought to delineate rhythmic and phraseological structures, as well as fragments of melodies that will be used in the elaboration of interactive proposals for group musical creation. Thus, the focus of the research is the study of shared musical materials in the repertoire of popular border tradition with the aim of being triggered in processes of musical creation of free improvisation. For the exploration of the proposals we used the laboratory group linked to our research, the Orquestra Errante. As part of the expected results are, in addition to the theoretical reflection on the materials and the creation processes, the elaboration of performances to be presented by the group inside and outside the university.
