Abstract

Relations between Brazil and Argentina have always been present in both foreign policy agendas, being of extreme relevance to both, due to the geographical proximity and the relation of economic interdependence. Since the mid-1980s, however, with the rapprochement of the two countries, there has been an intensification of negotiations and a deepening of the regional integration agenda. In view of the importance of the regional integration aspect, the empirical method of research and analysis in a comparative perspective seeks to study the relationship and influence of public opinion in the decisions about the directions taken by the regional integration between Brazil and Argentina, of MERCOSUL.
