Effect of acute inflammation joint induced mBSA in muscle mouse of quadriceps with knee arthritis

Abstract

Arthritis is an inflammatory joint disease that involves one or more joints of the body and is characterized by pain, swelling, stiffness and functional impairment of the affected site. In the acute phase of inflammation can be characterized by the presence of immune cells into the joint and increased concentrations of inflammatory mediators in the synovial fluid. Adjacent muscle damage to the affected joints are few highlighted and studies are needed to understand these responses inflammatory muscle level. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of acute joint inflammation tibiofemoral in function, pain, swelling, joint inflammation and degree of the morphological features of the quadriceps muscle of mice. They will be assessed the following: Gait dynamics (route rod), pain (Von Frey), edema (pachymetry), degree of joint inflammation (neutrophil count of synovial fluid) and the possible morphological and molecular changes in the quadriceps muscle fibers. 02 will be analyzed groups (n = 10 per group) C57BL / 6 mice (20-25g): Control (without intervention); Arthritis (right knee arthritis induced by 100 ug of mBSA antigen). 6 hours after intraarticular immunization for induction of arthritis animals will be evaluated in function, pain, swelling, degree of joint inflammation and collection of the quadriceps muscle will be held. Statistical analysis will be performed by analysis of variance one-way ANOVA followed by multiple comparisons by Tukey test. (AU)
