Abstract

Continuing my doctoral research in that the objective was to analyze how chroniclers of Indias sought to translate a New World to europeans, this project seeks to examine to what extent the chronicles written by these scholars helped to enrich the historical knowledge produced in the spanish soil between the 16th and 17th centuries. With an emphasis on prologues of his works, space in which these chroniclers wrote more orderly and systematic about the goals of their office, the purpose of this study is to investigate how this production has helped to define the make history this time. In order to demarcate the cut end of the research, this study also does not cease to asses show these guidelines dictated by the chroniclers are more expressive in chronicles produced on the 17th century - the period in which its authors are more concerned on relation to the way of narrating the history. In view of these issues, the main product to be presented at the end of the stage of post-doctorate is a critical anthology on which will be edited the prologues of these diseases, this means the parts of those documents in which the chroniclers seek to express the motivations, objectives and the criterion of your writing.
