Abstract

Low back pain is an important public health problem that is multifactorial and common in several age groups, in both sexes. The objectives of the respective study will be to investigate the prevalence of low back pain, characterizing its pattern of occurrence - intensity, frequency and duration - and to analyze its association with sedentary activities (time on TV, computer, tablet and cell phone) in young adolescents from highschool. An observational, cross-sectional and analytical study will be carried out with 2,185 students from the first and second high school grades of public schools in the city of Bauru / SP, regardless of gender, who will use the data from the research "DOR IN COLUMN VERTEBRAL E FATORES ASSOCIATED IN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS: A LONGITUDINAL STUDY ", funded by FAPESP, in the form of Research Aid (proc. 2016/182837). In order to collect data, the adolescents answered a questionnaire composed of the following instruments: 1. Characterization of participants (demographic, socioeconomic aspects, level of information about ergonomic factors, sedentary activities - TV, computer, tablet and telephone time cell phone); 2. Musculoskeletal Symptoms through the Nordic Questionnaire 3. Visual Analog Pain Scale. Data analysis will be performed in the SPSS version 18.0 program, descriptive and bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyzes will be used. In all tests the significance level of 5% will be considered. (AU)
