Abstract

With this research, we intend to understand the role played by the individual within the Gramscian conception of Sigmund Freud's theory. To do so, we propose to make an exposition of how Freud's psychoanalytic theory is understood by Gramsci and then to address the issue of the individual exposed throughout the Quaderni del Carcere, as well as concepts strongly related to it, such as "individualism "" Collective man, "" conformism, "" culture, "" ideology, "among others, so that we can formulate a theoretical basis for understanding how, in Antonio Gramsci's conception, psychoanalysis can influence ideology and culture of society in general.
