Abstract

The use of the educational games is one of the strategies of active teaching-learning methodologies, which allow the development of problem-solving skills and ability to work in groups. It can also increase students' interest and motivation, and favor their cognitive, affective and psychomotor development. In 2014, an educational game has been developed for the integration of physiology of synapse, muscle contraction and autonomic nervous system. It is used in the undergraduate Dentistry course, at Piracicaba Dental School of University of Campinas. According to students' perceptions, the use of the educational game seems to be useful for their learning, because the activity with the educational game let the content lighter", "help in viewing more abstract content" and "leave the class more dynamic". These are still preliminary data and are not enough to conclude that this educational game improve the students' learning. The goals of this scientific initiation project are to evaluate the perception of the students who used this educational game in the years 2017 and 2018, to evaluate the effect of this game on the students' learning, by pre- and post- tests.
