Abstract

The student will continue assisting data collection, organization and analysis of secondary data on health-industry complex in Brazil and in comparative perspective. Two main activities will be performed throughout the 12 months research: first, the student will assist in qualitative data collection and analysis of bills proposed in Congress related to the health-industry sector (including pharmaceutical, private health insurance, and drug retailers). This information is crucial to triangulate with quantitative data collected from the Electoral Supreme Court (data set organized by the previous IC scholars in 2017). Second, the student will analyze the regulatory mechanism and incentives to innovation in the pharmaceutical sector; which includes an internship abroad.
