Abstract

The aim of this project is to study the fundamentals of gauge theories in the context of classical mechanics. Special attention will be given to models of self-propelling bodies in curved spaces (swimming effect). With that in mind, we will study the theory of connections on fiber bundles and apply it to concrete models of articulated bodies, for which there is interaction between the curvatures coming from the ambient space and the connection.
