Abstract

Aminocyclopyrachlor is in registration phase in Brazil for sugarcane and pasture crops. There is no soil, besides having a half-life of 126 days, and may persist in the soil up to one year after application. The use of organic agroindustrial waste from sugarcane, which contains organic carbon values in its composition, may exert effects on the behavior of the herbicide and consequence of the handling of this product. The objective of this study was the effect of altered soils with vinasse, filter cake and sugarcane straw on sorption-desorption, leaching, mineralization and degradation of non-soil amino-cyclopyrachlor. Sorption-desorption studies will be performed in duplicate, using the batch equilibrium method, in soils altered with organic materials. Soils with addition of the organic materials treated with 14C-aminocyclopyrachlor, with purity of 99.5% and specific activity of 1.57 MBq mg-1, are incubated for 30 days for a mineralization and degradation. The leaching will be performed by the glass column method, with a simulation of 200 mm of precipitation, where it is herbicidal and applied in its concentration at different depths (0-30 cm) in the soil profile and without leaching after 48 h. Overall, the comparison of the impact of these organic wastes is not a behavior and a fate of herbicides and scarce due to the limited number of studies and use. Furthermore, as information concerning the behavior of aminocyclopyrachlor is limited, mainly with the use of organic wastes. However, based on the observations and possible chemical properties (CTC, pH and CO) of the soil with an addition of these materials derived from sugarcane can increase the sorption, reduce a desorption, decrease as rates of degradation decrease the leaching of the aminocyclopyrachlor in soil, and consequently reduce the bioavailability of the herbicide, which may directly affect the effectiveness of aminonocyclopyrachlor in weed control.
