Abstract

The theme of this research deals with the journalistic language that the magazines SuperInteressante and Galileu use to bring to their public subjects that, originally, are usually approached from other discursive patterns linked to the academy. It is intended to analyze and interpret how these journals explain science to the lay public and provoke their interest and curiosity, taking into account the degree of complexity of the scientific language. Thus, we will use the studies of Discourse Analysis of the French school to understand the resources used and how it is approached not only the linguistic but the extralinguistic of the magazines' reports. This is a study of language as an agent of society, with contexts, culture and different interpretations. Finally, it is intended to understand why the journals cited have a great circulation and because people read them: by their content or by their form. (AU)
