Abstract

Drug abuse is a worldwide public health problem and has achieved considerable proportions in recent years. Studies demonstrate that the cannabidiol features Ansiolíticas, Anti-psicóticas, antidepressant and neuroprotective properties, but little is known about how the exact mechanism of action of these properties is. There is evidence that cannabidiol treatment can reduce the consumption of other abuse drugs, such as cocaine and amphetamines. Despite the relevance of the theme, a broad review of the literature has not revealed the presence of studies that investigate the effects of treatment with cannabidiol in behavior related to ethanol dependence, such as acquisition and reinstallation of the behavior of Operating auto management. In this way, this project aims to investigate whether the treatment with cannabidiol: 1) decreases the consumption of ethanol in the animal model of the operating auto management; 2) prevents relapsing to ethanol using the animal model of the operating auto administration after exposure to ethanol in the steam chamber.
