Abstract

The present project aims to: evaluate the influence of minerals on the dynamics of organic matter; to evaluate the influence of minerals on the stability of the aggregates of the study areas; create maps of the areas with the potential to emit and mitigate the emission of CO2 as a function of the mineralogy of the areas in two agricultural systems, integrated crop-livestock-forest (iCLF) and grassland in the cerrado region of Mato Grosso do Sul. The monitoring of CO2 emisson will be doing once in a month. In order to capture the spatial variability the CO2 emission will be evaluated in the layers of 00-0.10 and 0.30-0.40 m, disturbed samples will be collected to determine the texture, class of aggregates, mineralogy, humified organic matter and soil organic carbon. The undisturbed samples will be collected to determine the soil bulk density, total porosity, macro and microporosity and free porosity of water. In the layers 0 - 0.10; 0.10 - 0.20; 0.20 - 0.30 and 0.30 - 0.40 m the soil moisture and temperature will be evaluated to determine the temporal variability in CO2 emission. The temporal variability of CO2 emission, temperature and moisture in the study areas will be determined by means of the analysis of measures repeated in time using mixed models. The spatial variability of the variables will be studied by means of geostatistical techniques (variographic analysis, interpolation by ordinary kriging and sequential Gaussian simulation, followed by uncertainty analysis). The relationships between the studied variables will be described by exploratory multivariate analyzes (principal component analysis, factor analysis and structural equations analysis) and mathematical modeling.
