Abstract

Brazil has incorporated the use of prevention mechanisms and peaceful resolution of conflicts in its foreign policy. Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, during the practice of his two presidential mandates, performed a preponderant role, dealing directly with crucial international conflicts, in particular in the Middle East, aiming to make possible a substantial way to the international system stability. In this sense, the research project claims for the accomplishment of a theoretical deepening, starting from the analyze of Iran conflict, concerning the nuclear issue, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the issue of Palestine. The objective focus on understanding the nature of Lula's presidential diplomacy contribution through the conflicts mediation in the Middle East, taking into account the existence of real obstacles, constituted by certain conditions of the international system, besides those inherent to the area and the States, which are bound, directly or not, to the conflicts. In this line, the presidential diplomacy and the Brazilian foreign policy focusing on conflicts mediation in the Middle East during Luís Inácio Lula da Silva's government will be weighted. The Discourse Analysis French School is still considered the critical-analytical central approach of the statements of presidential speeches and the official documents issued to be quantitatively and qualitatively delimited to analyze the purpose of this academic investigation, taking into account the necessary material cutting for the biggest acuity in the research feasibility, which has theoretical-bibliographical character, and also in accuracy of its future results.
