Abstract

This proposal linked to the master's project under development in Brazil (process n. 2017/06220-3) in the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), has as main objective, to deepen knowledge about the registration of the industrial landscape developed in an international environment with the help of a georeferencing tool. During the stay we will have as a tutor Dr. Maria Isabel Alba Dorado, professor at the University of Malaga (Spain) and industrial landscape specialist. during the process abroad, we intend to establish contact with official documents and projects developed in an international environment, in order to deepen the concept of cultural landscape and methodologies to approach industrial heritage from a landscape perspective; recognize projects of intervention to the industrial heritage in different territorial scales, expressed in notable cases through the realization of technical visits; improve domain of Geographical Information System (GIS) tool, through meetings with researchers and specialists in the subject in Spain; carry out a case study in Villanueva del Río y Minas, Province of Andalusia (Spain), as a concrete case comparable to study case in Brazil. At the end of this study, the aim is to delineate a distinction between collection of historic buildings and landscape category, proposing the approach to industrial heritage at the urban-territorial scale, through the mapping of areas based on their landscape assessment.
