Abstract

The present scholarship aims to evaluate the biological activity through in vitro tests, using cancer cell lines, active compounds present in different structures of the seed (cotyledon, embryo and integument) and seedling (radicle and caulci) of Glycine max (soybean). To do so, we will perform the following lines of study: Cell proliferation assay, Apoptosis induction, Intracellular ROS formation and Cell death detection with Annexin V/propidium iodide together with the research group of the University of Heidelberg. This internship abroad is justified because there is the perspective of the development of a culture method of G. max cells (soybean) in suspension to produce active compounds with anticancer potential that is already in execution, with the possible mechanism of action involving the antioxidant and antiglycerin activity, and the new biological assays that will be developed abroad may corroborate with the results of the research project in the country. The internship project could also result in a scientific partnership between UNESP and the University of Heidelberg, both with the personal and professional gains of the undergraduate student who will experience the research experience at one of the most renowned molecular biotechnology research centers.
