Abstract

The species Brunfelsia uniflora (Pohl) D. Don, common named as manacá, is a native species of occurrence throughout South America. It has ornamental characteristics that can be used in landscaping, besides contributing to the urban afforestation. Thus, with the growing demand of the market for ornamental plants for new species and/or native species, it is necessary to obtain protocols for large scale propagation, due to the inherent difficulties of each species, as is the case of manacá, which produces few seeds and their cuttings rooted in a very limited percentage. In this way, this work will aim to establish a protocol aiming at micropropagation, by obtaining free shoots of contaminations, followed by their multiplication and in vitro rooting as a way to evaluate the viability of the technique aiming at its propagation. The plants obtained will be used later in commercial production to compare the seedlings from micropropagation with those from the cuttings. The culture establishment will be carried out with two culture media, WPM (Wood Plant Medium) and MS ½, reconciled with three doses of Benzyladenine (BA). For the multiplication experiments will be carried out in the absence of regulators, and with the addition of the cytokinins BA and Thidiazuron in the culture medium. Finally, in the rooting phase, the seedlings obtained will be tested with types and concentrations of auxins. (AU)
