Abstract

Deriving gene networks from genome wide association studies is a growing approach to understand QTL associations and the underlying genes. Systems genetics network approaches based on SNPs interaction networks have been fruitfull to identify pathways and causal genes to unravel the biological and genetic background of complex traits. Fatty acids profile it's a complex production trait, which it's composition in beef varies by breed. Therefore, this study will construct and analyse a SNP interaction network from previous genome wide association studies in Bos indicus and Bos taurus cattle related to fatty acids composition. This study will depth investigate the potential genetic and biological mechanisms involved in the regulation of fatty acids composition between breeds, provinding addittional insights about the molecular mechanisms that underlie this phenotype.
