Abstract

Internal Root Resorption (IRR) leads to structural weakening of the teeth. There are still questionable points in the use of fiberglass post in the restoration of endodontically compromised teeth with great loss of root structure. As a proposal, this study intends to: analyze the thickness of resin cement in the cementation of fiberglass post Reforpost® (Angelus) and Rebilda Post GT® (VOCO) and evaluate the bond strength of both post in IRR cases. Forty roots of central incisors and lower premolars of the maxillary human will be standardized at 16 mm in length. These roots will be included in acrylic resin cylinders and later sectioned in their half for IRR simulation. The segments will be returned to the original position with the aid of screws. All root canals will undergo standardized biomechanical preparation and a calcium hydroxide paste medication (Ca(OH)2) will remain in the root canal for 15 days. The removal of the paste will be done by passive ultrasonic irrigation and the quality of the cleaning will be evaluated by stereomicroscopy. The root canals will be obturated and the intraradicular preparation for the cementation of the post will be standardized. There will be 02 groups (n = 20), where each group will be cemented with a type of fiberglass post, using the same resin cement for both. Five samples from each group will be analyzed by computerized microtomography to evaluate the space of the cementation between the post and the dentin wall of the root canals and the IRR simulations. The evaluation of the bond strength will be done through the push-out test using the universal mechanical testing machine (EMIC) and the results will be submitted to statistical analysis with ANOVA 1-way and Tukey's test for comparison between the groups, with ± = 0.05 (AU)
