Abstract

This project proposes the development of a graphical interface for the synthesis of omnidirectional reflector antennas for radio-communications and radars applications at millimeter waves. Initially, it is proposed the development of the graphic interface for classic dual-reflector antennas those generated from confocal conics. In the next stage, the research embraces the development of theoretical and numerical tools, based on geometrical optics, to designs reflector surfaces considering two objectives: cosecant squared radiation pattern in the elevation plane to provide uniform coverage; uniform phase and field distributions at the conical aperture to maximize the directivity. Finally, it is proposed to generalize the existing formulations to other axially-symmetric configurations. (AU)
