Abstract

Euschistus heros (Fabricius, 1798), is one of the main pests in the soybean crop, causing quantitative and qualitative damage to soybean production. A recurrent problem that has gained visibility over the years is the excessive use of pesticides in crops to control this pest, which may lead to the selection of insecticide resistant populations, reinfestation in a short period of time and damage to the economic viability of control strategies. Thus, the present project focuses on the time-space behavior of E. heros in the soybean crop in the southwestern region of São Paulo, along with the generation of pest incidence maps, providing complementary information for the implementation of sampling plans. For this, an area of 1 ha will be divided into 28 sampling plots, with two sampling points per plot. The results obtained will be used in the QGIS software, geographic information system (GIS) technology, using the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method, to perform data interpolation, with the aim to generate incidence maps of the E. heros according to the stages of development in the soybean crop. With the results obtained, incidence maps are expected to be used as a way to increase the precision in the application of future control strategies and to use the semi-variogram generated for future work.
