Abstract

Manufacturing companies have incorporated the provision of services into their product offering as a strategy to increase the value proposition to their customer. This strategy is called servitization. Due to the benefits of integrated product and service offerings, manufacturing companies are also developing innovations in services. Many studies analyze the practice of service innovation in manufacturing companies in several countries; however, few studies have investigated this practice in Brazilian companies, especially the manufacturing companies from medical-hospital equipment industry. This paper aims to analyze which factors have an impact on the service innovation process in companies in the medical-hospital equipment industry. The factors that will be analyzed are: investment in human resources, adoption of technologies, customer involvement, understanding of customer needs, organization and structuring of the process of developing new services and technological partnerships. As a research method, the following procedures will be adopted: systematic literature review and survey type survey. The collected data will be analyzed by means of statistical methods to verify if there is correlation between the factors analyzed and the practice of innovation in services. Finally, two articles will be published in a congress to disseminate the results obtained. (AU)
