Abstract

This research project, in a broad way, aims to build, understand and compile a biographical and genealogical survey, in the sense of discursive knowledge, about the main Brazilian language students, which cover chronologically from the end of the nineteenth century until the 1940s of the twentieth century, so that these studies are put into circulation and are visible to all contemporary society, especially to show the importance of these works for the social development of Brazil. Theoretically based on a written history of the narrative of discursive events (GUILHAUMOU, 2009), we intend, through this historical-biographical and genealogical-discursive research, to understand the construction of a set of information that fill and cover narratives in the environments of characters of importance for the constitution of the linguistic knowledge about the Portuguese language in Brazil, as well as the cultural identity of our Brazilian identity, something that the studies up to the 1960s compiled leave uncovered because in many ways they leave biographies and biographies as something secondary to the process of understanding language studies, especially the archives and the characters that were engaged in this branch of knowledge of the language of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It is, therefore, in this motto of the writing of the history determining the narrative of the events, including of the scientific knowledge that constitutes the core of this research of doctorate.
