Abstract

This proposal for internship abroad has as its objective a deepening in the study of the Ticuna language. The specific focus is on translations, revision of translations, description and analysis of myths, exegeses and lyrics of songs related to the Festa de Moça Nova - Ticuna's female initiation ritual. It also provides for the translation and analysis of key terms for the analysis of the ethos of the ritual and the affections present in the Festa and expected of the girls and the ritual participants. For this, the internship proposes a greater specialization in the studies on the Ticuna language, the techniques, methods and theories of Linguistics pertinent to the analyzes of the ritual action, songs of the ritual and semantics of the words. Along with such linguistic refinement of translations and analyzes of utterances, texts and communications will be worked from the point of view of (1) ethnological theories, based on ethnographies of South Amerindian peoples, on the body, its affections and emotions; (2) theories and methods developed for the ethological and relational analysis of ritual action. The period of research will contribute to delineate the role of counseling and manipulation of the body of the neophytes in the production of the affectivity of the girls and the participants in the ritual.
