The aim of the present study is to compare the biomechanical properties under dorsoventral flexural load of four ventral stabilization techniques for canine atlantoaxial joint, including polyaxial screw fixation (G1), transarticular lag screw fixation (G2), locking plate fixation (G3) and multiples cortical screw in association with bone cement fixation (G4). Fifty six standard and tridimensional models of the atlas and axis, made of poly-lactic acid (PLA) and articulated with each other, under condition of atlantoaxial subluxation. Seven specimens will undergo the same technique of surgical stabilization and will form an experimental group, of a total of four groups to be tested. The data will be evaluated under statistical analysis among the four groups for reliable presentation of the results. (AU)
