Abstract

The molecular etiopathogenesis of adrenocortical tumors (CT) is partially known. Some genes and pathways are already consolidated and their functions are well established, such as TP53, via WNT / BETA-CATENIN, YAP1 and via SHH. However, the total clarification of the mechanisms involved in adrenal tumorigenesis is still lacking. In this context, the tumor suppression gene SAMD9, target of interest in the present study, may play an important role in the development of these neoplasms, in addition to that it might keep a relation with the clinical outcome of the patients, which could lead to the description of a new biomarker and / or pharmacological target for the treatment of TACs.
