Abstract

The use of vanadium-dependent haloperoxidases has presented several challenges when it comes to selectivity, the most challenging being the high reactivity of the halogenated species generated by the enzyme. Another challenge is the inactivation of the enzyme through the oxidizing agent, when it is in excess, or in prolonged contact with the enzyme. It is believed that the use of a reactor with high operational stability, coupled with the concept of "flash chemistry" can promote the controlled and continuous generation of the reactive intermediate, which may contribute to the kinetic most favored reactions, corroborating with a potential stereo transformation and regiosselective. Thus, in this project we propose the use of vanadium-dependent haloperoxidases, found in new sources, in fixed-bed reactors, with their immobilization and application to the study of continuous flow, aiming to improve the selectivity and enzymatic reactivity in the peroxidative bromination of organic substrates. In order to study the role of co-immobilization of enzymes in the controlled generation of H2O2, and in the selectivity of the reaction, a reactor containing the coimmobilized enzymes will also be used.
