Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the use of Biosilicate solution associated with natural therapeutic primers on bond strength (RU) of composite restorations to the dentin. For this, 320 healthy human molars will be selected to the study, that will have their occlusal surface ground flat and in the central area of the tooth surface, Class I cavities will be prepared (5 mm length, 4 mm width and 4 mm depth) using carbide burs. Half of the samples will be submitted to Des-Re protocols for the development of artificial caries. Afterward, all teeth will be separated into eight groups (n = 20) according to the treatment received before adhesive system (Adper Single Bond Universal - 3M ESPE) be used: Control Group: Adhesive System; CHX Group - Chlorhexidine (CHX) 0.12%; Bio Group - Biosilicate solution at 10%; P16 Group - Propolis extract with low levels of polyphenols; P45 Group - Propolis extract with high levels of polyphenols; CHXBio Group - CHX+Biosilicate; P16Bio - Propolis extract with low levels of polyphenols+Biosilicate; P45Bio - Propolis extract with high levels of polyphenols + Biosilicate. After restorative procedures, the samples will be sectioned into sticks in accordance with the "non-trimming" technique and will be separated and storage in distilled and deionized water at 37ºC for 24h and 6 months. After this periods of storage, the sticks will be submitted to microtensile test (0.5mm/min). The fracture patterns will be analyzed by SEM (JSM 5410, Sony). After data collection, they will be submitted to statistical analysis according to the most appropriate statistical test.
