Abstract

This research project takes as object of study the My Home My Life - Entities Program in the East Zone of the city of São Paulo, from 2009 to the current period, proposing to analyze its implementation, performance and urban impacts. This modality of the PMCMV was an attempt of institutional response throughout the process of social struggle for housing that resulted in the formation of movements, cooperatives and entities that congregate the economically poorest and socially most vulnerable population, precisely that framed in Track 1 of the program. The spatial clipping - the East Zone of São Paulo - summarizes the long contradictory process of occupation of this city, marked by intense socio-spatial segregation. The research intends to examine precisely this question: whether and how the implementation of the PMCMV - Entities represents an alternative of inclusive housing policy for the poorest population or if, conversely, it reproduces the contradictions between housing as a right and the financialization of housing (in the sense of their mercantilization). In addition, we must understand the socio-territorial effects of this housing production. The study takes into account the process of soil occupation and socio-spatial formation towards the east of the city of São Paulo and the participation of the various actors involved in the spatial production of the city, especially in relation to the picture of struggles, demonstrations and movements linked to the conquest of land and dwelling that invoked the flag of self-management of housing.
