Abstract

The research proposes to analyses the social struggles around education in Brazil in the period of 2007 to 2014, that covers the second term of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the first term of Dilma Rousseff administration. Our starting point is the expressive participation of the students while main subjects of social struggles for education, in a context in wich it goes through important structural transformations. It is intended to understand why during the "Partido dos Trabalhadores - PT" administration, and more specifically in the evidenced period, the education takes a featured place in social struggles, once the students' claims were intensified in universities from the year 2007.
