Abstract The energy management in the microgrids is performed through the scheduling and dispatch of the different distributed energy sources (EDF) and categories of interconnected loads within their limits. In this research project, it is proposed to include the procedure that consists of reducing the voltage levels with which the loads are fed to reduce its consumption, called Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR), within the schemes for energy management in microgrids. The main objective of the proposal is to investigate the interaction of CVR with the other energy management schemes when looking for the efficient, autonomous and economic operation of the microgrids. Some of the schemes to be investigated include scheduling and controlling the operation of energy storage systems and electric vehicles, scheduling and initiation of demand response actions for responsive loads, and scheduling and variation of the output power of the distributed generation units ) controllable. In addition, it will be considered presence of DG based on renewable energy sources, for example wind turbine generation systems and solar photovoltaic systems. The coordination of the operation of all components of the microgrids will be performed through optimization algorithms designed for centralized control from the control center of the micro-network. These algorithms will be developed to determine the operational plan of the microgrid components based on the objectives of the proposed strategies, which will be representative of the system requirements, eg voltage regulation, generation and demand balance, voltage and frequency stability, loss reduction, congestion management and minimization of operating costs. Strategies will be proposed for the different phases of operation of the microgrids (i.e., operation planning and real-time operation), considering different combinations of technologies. The performance of the strategies will be evaluated comparing the results of different case studies and, when possible, the results obtained will be compared with the results of similar works published in the specialized literature. | |
