Abstract

In this research project, the determination of heavy metals in tea samples, as lead and cadmium will be analyzed by a modified sensor of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) with nanoparticles of antimony (SbNPs). Tea is one of the most consumed drinks, in Brazil and in the world, and the presence of heavy metal has already been verified in some samples. There is no legislation to delineate safe levels of heavy metal in tea samples. In order to avoid the consequences of bioaccumulation of the present heavy metals, there is the need for proper analysis and control. Thus, this project aims at the development and characterization of an electrochemical sensor based on the synergistic combination between rGO and SbNPs for the simple, rapid, direct and sensitive analysis of cadmium and lead ions in tea samples.
