This project aims to implement a micro-photoluminescence (micro-PL) spatial mapping system in the acoustic wave modulation lab of the Group of Optical Properties (GPO) from IFGW. The main objective is to perform space and energy-resolved micro-PL in different semiconductor nanostructures. The mapping will allow a detailed study of micro-PL in nanostructures (like 2D materials) and the effects of the surface acoustic wave (SAW) in the excitonic states of these systems (free, localized, or edge states). To implement the system the student will employ automation programs to synchronize the functioning of different equipment in the lab. The mapping system performance will be tested by scanning the emission of different nanostructures, in particular the transition metal dichalcogenides.
