Abstract

The rehabilitation of the disabled population is essential to guarantee an increase in quality of life, but this task is even more relevant in Brazil, considering that almost a quarter of the population has some type of disability. In this context, in order to provide medical monitoring for the gain of motor functions, commercial motion capture systems are employed. However, these high-cost systems have low portability and do not provide specific gait analysis for people with cerebral palsy - a severe deficiency with high incidence in childhood. Thus, this research aims to develop a portable, low-cost inertial wearable device, which is oriented to the 3D gait capture of children with cerebral palsy.
