Abstract

The present research aims to study the Industry 4.0 and the Green Economy. Industry 4.0 has stood out in recent years due to its capacity to provide solutions for informatization and digitization of industries. At the same time, the Green Economy has been taking center stage in international politics as a response to growing pressure to reduce man-made environmental impacts; This pressure falls directly on market. Thus, both themes are potentially influential in the performance of organizations and supply chains. Therefore the present work aims to understand and determine the relationship between these issues and the potential impact of them and their relationship in the performance of supply chains. To achieve that, the interpretive structural modeling approach, which makes use of expert opinion and experience to build a relationship model between complex system variables, will be used. Then, defined the relationship between the variables, qualitative research will be developed to understand the reasons that lead Industry 4.0 and Green Economy to have potential effect on supply chain performance. It is hoped this project to contribute to companies and governments implementing actions in the scope of Industry 4.0 and Green Economy in order to obtain favorable and consistent results for their performances.
