Abstract Throughout the history of cinema in countries of the African diaspora, there is a common factor: the absence of experiences of black women or the recurrent use of stereotypes around them. In Brazil and the United States, a similar process of dehumanization of black bodies and annihilation of their multiple ways of living, both in films in itself as in the theoretical reflection produced that values a Eurocentric thought. Processes that shaped ways of seeing and relating to images.However, in front of this silencing, appear to the margins directors, writers, actors, producers, thinkers, and theorists who have sought to build a new cinematography that proposes critical positions regarding multiplicity and complexity of black experience in the diaspora. Recently, we have seen black filmmakers emerge in Brazil that have suggested new narratives about the experiences of black women in the movie theater. From the reflections about the production of images on the black experiences, intends to investigate the formation of the creative gaze of some black women as directors and writers in the Contemporary Brazil and analyze her films in an aesthetic, formal and historical perspective. | |
