Abstract

n 2009, the OAB began to demand specific knowledge of human rights in the content of its examinations (Provision No. 136) and it was on this occasion that many undergraduate courses adapted their curricula to include the study of topics related to the incorporation of international treaties and control of conventionality. In addition, in 2016, the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates began to provide for the content of conventionality control and incorporation of treaties (Resolution 2) as mandatory content for admission, training and improvement of magistrates. In this sense, the study of the decisions issued by international organizations to supervise and interpret international conventions embodied in the Brazilian legal system is of particular relevance in the process of training professionals of the Justice System, and the production of research in this respect has the purpose of compiling and analyzing data and guidelines that would allow the application of the law in practice. The purpose of this research project is to study how the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination interprets and applies the concept of racial discrimination. More concretely, the problem that we intend to answer with this research is the concrete dimension of this concept based on the 35 General Recommendations and in the Reports of the last 10 years.
