Abstract

The object of study of this research is an operative railway asset, more specifically the Júlio Prestes Station. From this, it aims to identify which elements make up for tourist attractiveness of protected railway assets. There is still no method of evaluating the attractions that is accepted worldwide (FORMICA, 2004), but the Ministry of Tourism suggests the hierarchy of attractions method (BRAZIL, 2017). To carry out the research, a theoretical and methodological review will be done, analysis of the guided tour of the Sala São Paulo, located at the Júlio Prestes Station, and interviews with it monitors, questionnaire application and TripAdvisor evaluation to identify the motivation of the tourists and, finally, discussion of the INVTUR and the hierarchy of attractions method proposed by the MTur. With this, it is hoped to achieve some criterion that can qualify the tourist attractiveness of the operative rail assets.
