The present research's main focus of study is the Campinas Railway Station, located in the city of Campinas - SP. This railway station is listed by Conselho de Patrimônio Histórico, Artístico, Arqueológico e Turístico (CONDEPHAAT). The main objective of the project is identifying the perception and interactions of the resident population of the surroundings on the station, in order to evaluate the uses adopted to the patrimonial site from the point of view of this community. Our specific objectives are: to record the perceptions and behaviors of the resident population around the station; identify protected goods and forms of reuse (or not) referenced; and compile the data obtained through the production of maps. The methodology used will be the values-based heritage approach developed by Silberman and Labrador (2014), which has the principle of interpretation as a tool for intangible heritage. The methodological processes will be: semi-structured interviews with the neighboring population of the railway station, mapping, local tour, visual registration, review of the cultural heritage site registering process and bibliographic research. As a result of this study, a list of cultural references and a map of them shall be obtained.
