Abstract

The development of paper-based analytical devices has been growing mainly due to its characteristics as simplicity and low cost. Several strategies for the development of these devices have been experimented in recent years. The manufacture of this type of electrodes is performed using basically the application of external reagents on paper, such as paints or nanoparticles. In this work, we intend augment or knowledge of a new type of electrodes, the LS-ePADs (LASER scribed method for the fabrication electrochemical paper-based analytical devices). These new electrodes, which produced surprising positive results when compared to conventional electrodes, were recently published in Angewandte Chemie by the co-supervisor of this project.
