Abstract

The intensive production systems generally increases the infeccious deseases outbreaks that can cause damages for aquaculture. The Streptococcus agalactiae is been considered an example of pathogenic bacteria with major occurrence and economic importance in fish farming. Therefore, this project aimed to select a probiotic bacterium capable of inhibiting the pathogenic bacterium, Streprotococcus agalactiae and potentialize the vaccine's immunostimulatory effect. The experiment will be conducted at APTA/SAA - Pólo Centro Leste - Pirassununga UPD. The work will be divided in two phases: 1°) in vitro bacteria inibition test; 2°) infection chalenge with S. agalactiae. The experimental design of phase two will be completely randomized, corresponding to five treatments (group 1 - without probiotic and without vaccine; group 2 - adjuvant injected only, without probiotic and without vaccine; group 3 - with probiotic and without vaccine; group 4 - without probiotic and with vaccine; group 5 - with probiotic and with vaccine) and four replicates. The analyses proceed will be serum lysozyme, analysis, immunoglobulins by serum agglutination, ELISA and gene expression (qPCR). The relative protection index will be calculated considering survival after experimental infection. The results from the second test will be submited to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's test (p<0,05).
