Abstract

Over the last few years, fashion has become a highly polluting industry because produces a high volume of parts every day, which often can not be absorbed by the market, occurring a large discard. Most clothes are made with synthetic fibers, that is, a type of polymer that does not degrade and that when discarded causes great impacts to the environment, since tissue recycling is not yet common. Textile industries produce a large number of pieces of fabrics that do not even become products, generating impacts in the pre-consumption stage also. In addition, another problem is microplastics, microscopic polymers that are released at various stages of production and post-consumption, these are destined for the oceans and place several species of animals at risk. Considering that Sorocaba is an industrial pole that has a relevant textile sector, this work aims to study clearly the impacts caused by the incorrect disposal of textile residues, developing solutions for the recycling of these parts in the various stages of the production process through the tools of Production Engineering and Cleaner production. As a working method will be used the production chain of the sector in the region of Sorocaba, São Paulo, collecting data from applied forms and monitoring of the industries.
