Abstract

The purpose of investigating the social position assumed by Otto Maria Carpeaux in the process of reallocation of agents of the Brazilian intellectual field in the post-coup of 1964, allows a definition of the characteristics of this field and the understanding of the process of its construction. We present in the research a central hypothesis that situates different points of origin that integrated and contributed to the reorganization of agents in the intellectual field in post-coup Brazil, with emphasis on the alternative press, literary criticism and cultural resistances, in which Carpeaux had an active participation . In this project, which starts from a proposal in the ongoing research that aims to evaluate the impact of Carpeaux's critical production between the years 1940 and 50 on its militant activity in the 1960s, we present another hypothesis that allows to establish relations between its pre and post production This hypothesis situates Carpeaux from the dialectic continuity x inflection supported by categories that will be defined in the course of the research, as: tradition, past and resistance
