Abstract

Systems with commutation are formed by a finite number of subsystems and a rule that selects at each instant of time one of them. Their study is very common in several areas of engineering, such as power electronics, robotics, automotive, among others. Our interest class is made up of similar systems with switching, whose applications are numerous in the area of power electronics. Considering the stability and performance results recently obtained by our research group, the objective of this project is to experimentally validate the control techniques developed, applying them to problems of great practical interest in this area, such as, the regulation of voltage in the output of DC-DC power converters. More specifically, we wish to compile experimental sets of these converters to validate theoretical results obtained for related systems in continuous and discrete time switching, as well as to perform a detailed analysis of performance and losses, comparing the results with those obtained by classical techniques commonly used in the literature. We believe that this research project is important in establishing a link between theory and practice that is being increasingly valued by the current scientific community. In addition, the assembled experiments will be important for future projects of our research group.
