Abstract

Marital Social Skills (MSS) are behaviors which contribute to maximize marital satisfaction, to improve relationship quality and reduce relationship problems. These behaviors (MSS) may be developed through specific programs, whose results evidence effectiveness in studies abroad. Evidence-based training programs seeks to consider global aspects of what is being produced in several countries as a result of effectiveness, and structure interventions through the limitations of research of these studies. There are few programs that specifically work with interventions for couples and families. Among these take place in the Prevention Research Center of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, headed by Dr. Mark Feinberg at Pennsylvania State University. This proposal is based on three aims: (1) improve knowledge and skills related to design and methods to evaluation of training programs with couples, including the goals, techniques, processes and duration of intervention; (2) improve knowledge about statistical methods to data analysis with therapeutic groups; (3) learn to codify marital interactions.
