Abstract The Project "Seascape genetics and evaluation of expression profiles in marine invertebrates on the Southeast Brazilian coast" demands molecular analysis of two marine invertebrate species in order to comprehend which and how evolutionary phenomena explain genetic variability distribution. The sampling are going to be performed in micro and macro geographic scales in order to understand how populations are organized and to obtain more realistic estimates of the gene flow from the invertebrates species that have a planktonic larval stage. This kind of approach is pioneer in Brazil and it is potentially interesting, as it may be eventually applied at larval and coastal ecology studies. The student is going to receive training to collect and identification of the species analyzed in this research, Littoraria flava (King & Broderip, 1832). The student is going to be directly involved in the collect and initial data analysis of Littoraria flava, as well as in the biotics data collected in the sampled sites transects. | |
