Abstract

The present study aims to describe a new technique for stabilization of osteotomy or fracture of olecranon by means of intramedullary nails blocked with compressive effect, compared to two other methods, voltage band and blocked plate (LC-DCP). For this purpose, prototyped (standardized) test specimens (ulna canina) (n = 21) manufactured in PLA (polylactic acid) will be used. After allocation of the implants in each of the three groups, (group using compressive rod (GH), group with tension band (GBT) and group plate (GP)), biomechanical tests (tension test) will be performed in order to ascertain which of the three techniques will provide greater resistance to the tensile force. The tensile stress tests will be performed by a specific test machine connected to the computer system for data acquisition. Data will be evaluated between the 3 Groups (GH, GBT and GP), resulting in seven replicates for each combination. The means will be compared with Student's t-test with a significance level of 5%.
