Abstract

ICTP (Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics) is an international center that aims to encourage research in physics and mathematics in developing countries. In 2011, the ICTP-SAIFR (South American Institute for Fundamental Research) was established in the city of São Paulo, the first unit of ICTP outside of its headquarters. The center went on to encourage research in countries of South America where the area of theoretical physics is still not developed. Among its main lines of research are cosmology and gravitation, string theory, complex systems, particle physics, and atomic and nuclear physics. This project aims to bring these issues to society through scientific publication, which will not only increase their knowledge of the public about theoretical physics but also encourage the public to learn more about the area. The material of science communication will be developed through interviews with researchers and postgraduate students of the IFT-UNESP and ICTP-SAIFR and published in the Unesp Newspaper and the ICTP-SAIFR site.
