Abstract

This Project proposes the development of new methods for electric parameters estimation of power transmission lines by means of oscillographic records at the sending and receiving ends terminals, which can be obtained using digital measurement devices. Since current and voltage signals are known in the time domain at the line terminals, it supposes that the impedance and admittance matrices of the line can be estimated based on the differential equations from the line representation by equivalent À circuit. However, the technical literature proves that such technique is not a trivial procedure and presents several restrictions in methods developed in the time as well as in the frequency domain. Thus, based on a wide bibliography review, alternative methods are proposes by using system identification techniques which are widely used in signal processing and many other procedures. The proposed development represents a new approach applied for parameters estimation of transmission lines based on current and voltage measurements, which was not previously applied to solve problems in power systems, and then determining the original contribution of this research. Some methods to be studied for development of the proposed estimation techniques are: Auto-Regressive with Exogenous Input - ARX, Auto-Regressive Moving Average with Exogenous Input - ARMAX, Output Error - OE, Box-Jenkins and other well-established methods.
