Abstract

The project aims to study and analyze ethnohistory, occupation and the existence of an urbanistic "project" in the Jesuit reductions in the north of the state of Paraná, focusing mainly on the sites of Santo Inácio Menor (municipality of Santo Inácio) and Nossa Senhora of Loreto (Itaguajé). As a theoretical discussion, we have chosen the "cultural heritage", an expression of embracing meaning, especially in the countries' last decades, covering not only the artistical monuments of the past, but also the several cultural property or immaterials, as well as landscapes, architecture, traditions, knowledges and importants archeological sites for the construction of the collective identity and for a people's memory. It also seeks to contribute with the patrimonial education, known as a way of "cultural literacy" on the schools and communities focused on recognition and heritage's preservation. The thematic approach of this project will analyze the Jesuit Missions located on the north of Paraná state during the XVI and XVII centuries, performing inventories, topography and model of his arqueological sites, as well as the study of historical and academic documentation associated with them. Understanding the logic of the Missions implantantion, from the urban point of view, is the main goal/hyphothesis from the research, besides representing, in it's results, models as a tool to accomplish a projection of how were the Jesuits Missions on São Paulo's state, historically evidenced on Vale do Paranapanema Paulista's region.
